Jan's Paperbacks, used book store in Aloha, OR, is AWESOME! They truly support local authors. C.J. Maillup and I had a book signing there today, and it was a good event. A lot of customers stopped by, we chatted, C.J. and I each sold and signed some books (his family is great). This morning I attended the University Club Toastmasters as a guest speaker, and volunteered to serve as general evaluator. The club is warm and welcoming. Anyone looking for a great way to start their Thursday morning in downtown Portland should consider attending/joining. I wasn't pleased with many aspects of my speech this morning, and I flailed about a bit as general evaluator, unused to their particular protocols. In spite of that I enjoyed myself, and they were encouraging. I did…

Having learned yesterday afernoon that I would be speaking this morning at a Toastmaster's Club (Daylighters; meets Wednesdays, 06:40 - 07:55, Cedar Hills Recreation Center), I didn't feel there was time to add it to my "Next Appearance." My humorous speech about New Year's Resolutions was well received, by a small but energetic group.

I updated the description in the "Out Now" section. The new description gives a better feel for the trilogy, setting, and how it ties with its companion trilogy. However, that means less is said about the first book, Once There Were Dragons. Look for "Coming Soon" to appear soon, as I finalize my target date for the first book in Foredune Revisited, Problems in Pairodice!

Thrill of the Quill was excellent! A small crowd, but enthusiastic. Great writing exercise, several I want to hear when they are finished, good reactions to mine and they also look forward to its completion (you can only write so many words in 10 minutes, even if you have won NaNoWriMo two years in a row!)
